The bearing has tapered rollers (14) rolling on cone- or groove-shaped race ways (10, 12) between inner and outer races (9, 11). A split conical ring (15) surrounds the outer race, and a thermal compensation element (18) is in contact with the ring. The ring is extended over a projecting part of axial extension of the outer race, where a conical outer surface (13) of the outer race overlaps a conical inner surface (16) of the ring. The compensation element is arranged between a section (4) of a bearing bracket (2) and a larger front surface of the ring. The compensation element axially impinges the section of the bearing bracket and the larger front surface of the ring.
