摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous implant material having strength characteristics similar to human bone and ensuring adequate bonding with bone even while avoiding the occurrence of a stress shielding phenomenon. <P>SOLUTION: Multiple metal bodies 4, 5 of differing porosities are bonded via bonding interfaces F parallel in one direction, while the porosity of the overall composite of the metal bodies 4, 5 is 50 to 92%. The metal bodies of the higher porosity are porous metal bodies 4 having a three dimensional reticulated structure with multiple communicating pores formed by a continuous bone structure. The metal bodies 5 of the lower porosity has a porosity of 0-50%, and has an area occupancy in cross-sections in a direction orthogonal to the axis direction of 0.5 to 50% when one direction along the bonding interfaces is directed to the axis direction. The strength when compressed in a direction parallel to a direction along the bonding interfaces is 1.4 to 10 times the strength when compressed in a direction along the direction orthogonal to the bonding interfaces. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
