<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a liquid developer carried on a developer carrier into a preferable charged state. <P>SOLUTION: A developing device is provided, including: a developer carrier 20 carrying a liquid developer containing a toner and a carrier liquid, to which a development bias is applied; a charging unit 22 charging the liquid developer carried by the developer carrier 20; a potential measuring unit 23 measuring a first potential, which is a potential of the developer carrier 20 at a position where the liquid developer is not carried, and measuring a second potential, which is a potential of the developer carrier 20 at a position where the liquid developer is carried and charged by the charging unit 22; and a control unit, which calculates a difference between the first potential and the second potential measured by the potential measuring unit 23 and adjusts charging of the liquid developer based on the calculated difference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
