PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a urethane compound, by which a urethanation reaction is uniformly advanced while suppressing generation of byproducts.

SOLUTION: The method for producing a urethane compound comprises reacting a hydroxy-containing component and an isocyanate component to produce a urethane compound, wherein a zirconium compound and a zinc compound are used as catalysts in carrying out the urethanation reaction.
