The cable (1) has an insulation layer surrounding a conductor (2) and a flame-resistant outer shell (12). A tubular-shaped folding screen (7) is made from an electrically and thermally well conducting metal and provided between the insulation layer and the outer shell. The folding screen is surrounded by a flame-resistant intermediate casing (8). Another tubular-shaped folding metallic screen (10) is arranged between the intermediate casing and the outer shell. The former screen is made of an aluminum or copper band, and the latter screen is made of a dual, counter-wound copper strip. The insulation layer comprises an inner semiconductor layer (3), a dielectric isolation layer (4) and an outer semiconductor layer (5).
