<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of more accurately reducing a Random Telegraph Signal (RTS) noise component from an image. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus comprises a storage part, a representative value calculation part, a determination part, and a noise reduction part. The storage part stores a noise level of the RTS noise in each pixel of an imaging element. The representative value calculation part calculates a representative value to the image photographed by the imaging element using a pixel value of a circumference pixel in a target pixel. The determination part determines whether or not the RTS noise has an influence on the target pixel, using a difference between the representative value and the pixel value of the target pixel and the noise level of the RTS noise in the storage part corresponding to the target pixel. The noise reduction part reduces the RTS noise component from the pixel value of the target pixel when the determination part determines that the RTS noise has an influence on the target pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
