<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration tamper which is light, is cost-effective and is excellently protected from damages especially during transport. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus for soil compaction, especially a vibration tamper, includes: substructure 2 provided with a tamper foot 4 and a bottom guide cylinder 6; and a superstructure 8 provided with a housing 10, an upper guide cylinder 12, and at least one drive unit 14 which is in operative connection with the tamper base foot 4 in substructure 2 via a drive train 16. And in the apparatus for soil compaction in which the substructure 2 is movable relative to the superstructure 8 along a compaction axis with at least one compaction amplitude and the upper guide cylinder 12 and the bottom guide cylinder 6 are movable with each other in the direction of the compaction axis, at least one stop element 20, provided between the superstructure 8 and the substructure 2, stops the movement of the substructure 2 relative to the superstructure 8 on exceeding the maximum compaction amplitude. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
