METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INSPECTING SPOT WELDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for inspecting spot welding capable of inspecting presence/absence of spot welding in a wide-range region and capable of inspecting a spot welding position.

SOLUTION: An apparatus for inspecting spot welding includes: a first floodlight for applying oblique light to a weld base metal that has been spot-welded; an image pickup machine acquiring an image of the weld base metal from the upper part; a scanner mounted with the first floodlight and the image pickup machine and capable of adjusting the position with respect to the weld base metal; and a processor for processing image information from the image pickup machine. The processor includes: first means that acquires, from a first image with a third hierarchical level luminance acquired from the image pickup machine, a second image comprising an intermediate luminance level and a second hierarchical level luminance other than the intermediate luminance level and defines a part with the luminance other than the intermediate luminance level as an edge part of the spot welding; and second means for determining a central position of the spot welding based on the edge part.
