PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow efficient transmission of image data.

SOLUTION: An interface part 12 of an image sensor 1 is provided with an ECC process part 22 which performs error correction coding of the pixel data constituting the image taken with an imaging process part 11. Meanwhile an interface part 32 of an image processing LSI2 is provided with an ECC process part 45 which corrects the error of pixel data by performing error correction decoding based on the encoded data sent from the image sensor 1. In a transmission system consisting of the image sensor 1 and the image processing LSI2, a circuit for performing an ECC process is provided to a link layer of the interface part, and the transmission error that occurs at a physical layer is corrected at the link layer. The present invention can be applied to an imaging apparatus containing an image sensor and an image processing LSI.
