<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reamer and a method for working a hole, which can prevent burrs from being generated and obtain a desired hole diameter. <P>SOLUTION: The reamer includes a columnar section having a columnar shape and rotating in a preset direction about the axis thereof; blades provided on the outer peripheral surface of the columnar section and twisted and extended in the direction in which the blades are formed for uppercutting; a cutting fluid flow path which is provided in the columnar section and into which a cutting fluid is introduced; and a discharge opening group formed in the outer peripheral surface of the columnar section and connected to the cutting fluid flow path.
