<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially suitable and simple method for producing 4-amino-2-alkylthio-5-pyrimidinecarbaldehyde at high yield, and to provide an intermediate compound using the above method, and an industrially suitable and simple method for producing the intermediate compound safely in high yield. <P>SOLUTION: The method for production of 4-amino-2-alkylthio-5-pyrimidinecarbaldehyde is characterized by reacting an alkali metal salt of 4-amino-2-mercapto-5-pyrimidinecarbaldehyde with an alkylating agent. The invention also relates to the use of the alkali metal salt of 4-amino-2-mercapto-5-pyrimidinecarbaldehyde in production of 4-amino-2-alkylthio-5-pyrimidinecarbaldehyde. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
