The aim of the invention is to create reliably operating charging device for an electric vehicle, that is improved compared to prior art. To this end, a charging device for an electric vehicle comprises an electric cable and a charging connection element. The charging device comprises a transport device that can pull the electric cable inside a cable drum. The electric cable is then wound onto the cable drum in a two-dimensional manner.
