IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism which is capable of accurately recognizing a matter even when the orientation of the matter to be recognized changes within a screen.

SOLUTION: An image processing device is provided with: dictionary storage means 60 which stores data on plural dictionaries corresponding to different directions of an identical matter; recognition means 40 for recognizing the matter located in a predetermined direction using the dictionaries relating to the matter; and dictionary/collation region setting means (switch means) 70 which applies the dictionaries to the recognition means while switching the dictionaries for each region of an image. The applied regions of the dictionaries used for the regions of the images are overlapped.
