<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a program that reduce the load of a series of processes for extracting retrieval object information such as a character string from video and retrieving desired retrieval object information, and acquire a detection result of the retrieval object information without disturbing viewing. <P>SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus includes a television device 3, a portable terminal 4, a router 5, a retrieval server 6, and a server 7 for image memo. With a memo button 25 of a remote control device 24 pressed when interesting information is displayed during viewing of the screen of the television 3, a snapshot image of current video, i.e. a still image is displayed on the screen, and retrieval object information such as one or a plurality of characters is extracted from the still image through character recognition. With a decision button 26 of the remote control device 24 pressed, a browser window appears in a state in which a keyword is selected, the selected keyword is retrieved by a search engine from the extracted retrieval object information without interrupting a window being viewed to acquire a retrieval result thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
