<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition facilitating direct forming of a patterned polymer film and forming a conjugated polymer film exhibiting a high luminous uniformity. <P>SOLUTION: The composition for forming a polymer layer in connection with production of a light emitting device contains the conjugated polymer dissolved in a solvent, the solvent contains an aromatic hydrocarbons substituted with a dialkyl or trialkyl group, and at least two of the alkyl substituents are in an ortho position mutually.
