A timing mechanism for sequentially actuating a plurality of switches comprises a cam-shaft 14 carrying a plurality of adjustable cam sets, each set consisting of a central driving cam 15 fixed on the shaft and a pair of driven cams 16, 17, aligned axially on a central boss 18 of cam 15 and held in rotating engagement therewith by springs 19. Gear-like teeth 21 on cams 16, 17 co-operate with gear-like teeth 20 on cam 15, and cams 16, 17 are disengaged and rotated manually to adjust them to the required setting (Fig. 1, not shown). An electric motor 10 drives shaft 14 through a spring coupling 13 and manual rotation is possible via a knob (not shown) on a shaft extension beyond mounting plate 27, a spring coupling 32 positively preventing reverse rotation of the shaft. Snapaction switches 23 are mounted by eyelet-like bosses 24 integral with the switch housings 25 on channel-shaped mounting plates 22 screwed to mounting plates 27, 12, which have arcuate slots 30 to facilitate adjustment of the channel plates 22. Eyelet-like bosses 26, similar to mounting bosses 24, are used to secure the switch housing parts together, the bosses being heat staked (Fig. 3, not shown). |
