<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable that cannot be bent at an angle below the bending radius R. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable includes: a main body of the optical fiber cable in which tension members are disposed on the same plane on both the right and left sides of a coated optical fiber and notches for ejecting the coated optical fiber are hollowed on both the upper and lower sides of an insulation coating layer covering the coated optical fiber and the tension members; and a tube for regulating a bending radius which is fitted on a bending region of the main body of the optical fiber cable. The tube has a substantially elliptical cross section and upper and lower side portions which are linear, their insides being just large enough to touch the upper and lower surfaces of the main body of the optical fiber cable, a protrusion being fitted in the notch being disposed on them, protrusions being provided in a stepped shape on their outer surfaces at a certain interval in the lengthwise direction, and gaps being provided between the circular arc inner surfaces of the right and left surfaces of the tube and the outer surfaces of the right and left sides of the insulation coating layer of the main body of the optical fiber cable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
