<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt clip of a measuring tape, which is provided with an original function of the belt clip and a hook engaging function enabling the belt clip to be safely engaged with an external hook member, and by which the measuring tape can be compactly hooked on a snap-shackle or D-hook provided on a belt of an operator when engaging the measuring tape with the belt of the operator, the belt being difficult for carrying the measuring tape by the belt clip. <P>SOLUTION: A belt clip comprises: a base body 2 for fixing a measuring tape to a case 1; and a movable clip body 3 supported by the base body 2 and changeable to a clip form in which a space in which a belt of an operator enters is formed at least between the case 1 and the movable clip body 3 and to an engaging tool form in which the movable clip body 3 is engaged with an external hook member. The movable clip body 3 maintained in a prescribed form by a bearing 5 and a plate spring 6 of the base body 2 is turned in a direction perpendicular to a plane of the case 1 by a prescribed force or above.
