<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which obtains document inclination before a document is fed to a read position. <P>SOLUTION: An image reader 3 comprises: an ADF 40 for feeding the document; a read part 30 which reads the fed document at a home position HP and a detection position KP which is upstream from the home position HP with respect to a document feeding direction; a drive part 60 which when a request for the start of reading the document is input, moves the read part 30 from the detection position KP to the home position HP at a time after a document tip passes through the detection position KP and before the document tip arrives at the home position HP; and a detection part 21 which detects document inclination from an inclination detection image KG read at the detection position KP by the read part 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
