The invention relates to a method for generating fuel gas from a solid fuel (4) in a shaft gasifier (1), wherein the fuel (4) is fed to the shaft gasifier (1), wherein the fuel (4) is degassed in a degassing zone (9) of the shaft gasifier (1) feeding an oxidizing agent from the outside. The pyrolysis gas (11) formed in this way is fed from the degassing zone (9) to an oxidation zone (12) which is arranged within a gasifier shaft (2) of the shaft gasifier (1) and separate from the degassing zone (9), wherein the oxidation zone (12) is formed within an oxidation chamber (13) to which the pyrolysis gas (11) is fed via pyrolysis gas openings (14), wherein the pyrolysis gas (11) is oxidized and thermally cracked at least partially in the oxidation zone (12) by feeding an oxidizing agent, wherein the exhaust gas (21) from the oxidation chamber (13) is reduced into a fuel gas in a reduction zone (22) connected downstream of the oxidation chamber (13) by the coke formed in the degassing zone (9) by withdrawing heat, and wherein, preferably, the reduction coke formed in the degassing zone(9) is fed to the reduction zone (9) by bypassing the oxidation chamber (13). According to the invention, to increase the residence time in the oxidation chamber (13) the pyrolysis gas (11) is diverted on at least one built-in part (27) of the oxidation chamber (13) having a flow guide function. |
