PURPOSE: A method for controlling a two step auto transmission for an electric vehicle is provided to improve fuel efficiency by controlling a manual transmission mode and an auto transmission mode. CONSTITUTION: It is determined whether an electric vehicle moves or not(S10). A manual transmission mode and an auto transmission mode are determined according to the traveling state of the electric vehicle(S20,S30). A vehicle moves according to the determined transmission mode.
