<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for adding a printing service to a specific printer. <P>SOLUTION: A printing system includes PCs 10, a server 30, and a printer 50. The printer 50 has an attaching part 60 where a coloring agent cartridge 72 can be attached, and a read/write part 62 for reading a service point SP from an IC chip 74 mounted on the coloring agent cartridge 72. Each of the PCs 10 has a network interface 16 for obtaining the service point SP from the read/write part 62, and a CPU 12 serves as a request part 20 and a determination part 22. In the server 30, a CPU 32 serves as a conversion part 40. In the printing system, before the CPU 12 requests service addition (conversion) to the server 30, the CPU 12 determines whether or not the request is possible on the basis of the service point SP, and determines whether or not to limit the service addition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
