SYNERGISTIC COMBINATION OF FLUMETSULAM OR DICLOSULAM WITH DIIODOMETHYL-P-TOLYLSULFONE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide antimicrobial compositions having enhanced activity against various strains of microorganisms for achieving effective control measures of microorganisms in dry film coatings.

SOLUTION: A synergistic antimicrobial composition includes: flumetsulam or diclosulam; and diiodomethyl-p-tolylsulfone. The synergistic antimicrobial composition is effective against fungi (such as yeast and mold), bacteria and algae. When any of combinations of the biocides is incorporated into building materials, especially dry film coatings, microbial growth can be prevented.
