A control circuit section of the present invention a) determines whether a subject to be heated is placed or not above heating coils, on the basis of load resistances (Ri) and resonant frequencies (Fri) of the heating coils, said load resistances and resonance frequencies having been calculated when drive circuits are controlled so as to supply a high frequency current having a detection frequency (Fs1) to the heating coils, b) determines a drive frequency (FD), which is more higher, by added frequency (?F), than the highest resonant frequency among the calculated resonant frequencies (Fri) of the heating coils that have been determined that the heating coils have the subject to be heated placed thereon, and c) controls the drive circuits so as to supply a high frequency current having the drive frequency (FD) to the heating coils that have been determined that the heating coils have the subject to be heated placed thereon. The present invention provides a heat induction cooker that supplies the heating coils with the high frequency current, which has extremely high heating efficiency and an optimum drive frequency, without affecting the switching element of the drive circuit. |
