A software edition loading method and a base station controller are disclosed in the present invention, which relate to wireless communication field, can improve the software edition loading speed of the base station controller, and reduce the interruption time of the service caused by the power-on of the base station controller. The method of the present invention includes: a master control single board downloads a software edition, and distributes the software edition to each controlled single board; the master control single board activates the software edition of itself; each controlled single board loads the software edition.
