A cutter (10) for machining threads comprises a screw die unit (110) and a guiding unit, wherein the screw die unit (110) is used for machining threads on a workpiece (20) to be machined, and the guiding unit is used for matching up with a guiding structure of the workpiece (20) to be machined while the screw die unit (110) is machining threads to guide the screw die unit (110). Furthermore, a machine tool, a method for machining threads and a method for machining threads on a connector are also disclosed. The cutter and method for machining threads can carry out a good guide, thus enabling the machined threads to be more accurate. The machine tool with the above cutter can improve highly the efficiency of threads machining.
