<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies that specifically bind to cells expressing endosialin and have the ability in the alternative to become internalized by the cells and to induce immune effector activity such as antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity; and to provide uses thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The anti-endosialin antibodies are useful in specific delivery of agents to endosialin-expressing cells as well as in eliciting immune-effector activity particularly on tumor cells and neovascular cells and precursors.
