<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edger controlling device, with which a plate width of a material is detected accurately and the plate width is controlled with high accuracy by a simple constitution without using a width meter. <P>SOLUTION: The edger controlling device 100 controls an edger 30 for correcting the plate width of a rolled material 2 on a rolling line 1. The edger controlling device 100 includes an opening degree controlling part 140 for changing the opening degree of the edger 30 in accordance with the difference between an edger load applied to the edger 30 from the rolled material 2 which passes through the edger 30 and a target load value. The opening degree controlling part 140 controls the opening degree of the edger 30, when the edger load becomes equal to the target load value, to be the plate width of the rolled material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
