<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem that, in a camera having a photographing mode where a shutter is released by detecting a smile (a smile shutter), when an algorithm and parameter for the smile shutter function in a still picture photographing mode is applied to a motion picture photographing mode, the motion picture quality is deteriorated and the convenience of the chapter function is degraded in a smile still-in movie and a smile chapter function. <P>SOLUTION: A camera has at least two of a function of photographing a still picture based on a smile determination result by smile determination means in a still picture photographing mode, a function of photographing a still picture while a motion picture is being recorded based on the smile determination result by the smile determination means in a motion picture photographing mode, and a function of burying a chapter in the motion picture based on the smile determination result by the smile determination means in the motion picture photographing mode.
