<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edge detection method and an edge detector capable of accurately detecting a peripheral edge shape of a convex lens by a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: An edge detection method for detecting a peripheral edge shape of a convex lens 100 using an image part 2 for imaging the convex lens 100 comprises: emitting diffusion light to the image part 2 through an emission opening 11a of a mask 11 in which the emission opening 11a is formed; disposing the convex lens 100 in the depth of field of an imaging optical system 3 between the emission opening 11a and the image part 2; projecting an image of the mask 11 on an imaging surface 4a of the image part 2 by first diffusion light L1 being diffusion light incident on the image part 2 through the convex lens 100, and second diffusion light L2 being diffusion light incident on the image part 2 through the outside of the convex lens 100; and detecting the peripheral edge shape of the convex lens 100 based on a boundary shape between a bright part by the second diffusion light L2, and a dark part by the image of the mask 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
