<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct an image based on the degree of aberration in consideration of the fact that the degree of aberration that occurs on the retina of a viewer varies according to the viewer's pupil diameter, in order to solve the problem in which the sharpness of an image is deteriorated due to aberration that occurs on a viewer's retinal images when the viewer views the image displayed on a display device. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing method involves an aberration estimation process 206 in which to estimate the amount of aberration occurring on the eyes of a viewer using information on the viewer's pupil diameter, a correction amount acquisition process 208 in which to convert the estimated aberration amount obtained in the aberration estimation process to the amount of correction for an input image and a correction process 217 in which to perform the correction based on the correction amount obtained in the correction amount acquisition process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
