The method involves moving an electric drive (8) during operation of rolling-, pivoting- or sliding closures (6) along a traverse path (7) between an opening position and a closing position. The traverse path is divided into path segments (11) such that a load characteristic of the electric drive is detected during operation in the segments. Breakage criterion is assigned to the segments. The rolling-, pivoting- or sliding closures are conveyed in a secured state if the detected load characteristic fulfills the criterion that is assigned to the path segments. An independent claim is also included for a sliding gate system-model comprising a sliding gate system.
