PURPOSE: A device for manufacturing an optical unit and a method thereof are provided to automatize attachment processes by a bonding pad, thereby preventing contamination due to foreign materials. CONSTITUTION: LED(Light Emitting Diode)s are mounted on one side of a substrate plate. A pad attaching unit(340) attaches a bonding pad to a rear side of the substrate plate. A light source separating unit separates the substrate plate into unit substrates. The pad attaching unit includes a bonding pad supply unit(341) and a bonding pad tension unit(342).
