PURPOSE: A gas welding torch head and a protection unit for a gas welding torch head are provided to prevent damage to an eye shield caused by impacts during welding because a breakage prevention member is installed on the lower rim of the eye shield to prevent direct contact of the eye shield to a work piece. CONSTITUTION: A gas welding torch head(100) comprises a gas diffuser(111), an insulator(114), a nozzle(115), and a protection unit(120). The gas diffuser supplies gas provided through a torch body(112) and a wire to the front. The insulator is fixed to the gas diffuser and coupled to the front of the torch body. The nozzle, in which a contact tip is located, is coupled to the insulator. The protection unit is connected between the insulator and the nozzle. The protection unit comprises a fixing part(122) fixed to the coupling part of the nozzle and an eye shield(124) coupled to the fixing part.
