<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereo image processing device which can reduce the scale of hardware or software to acquire distance images at long and short distances and to detect a stereoscopic object. <P>SOLUTION: A stereo image processing device includes: a parallax detection part 21 for a long distance which has three cameras for picking up the same imaging area, performs matching with picked up images with a camera 11a and a camera 11c, calculates a corresponding area in which the difference between video signals is minimized for every predetermined unit area, and detects a shift amount of positions in both images in the corresponding area as a long distance parallax Pf; a parallax detection part 22 for a short distance which performs matching with picked up images with a camera 11b and the camera 11c, calculates a corresponding area in which the difference between video signals is minimized for every predetermined unit area, and detects a shift amount of positions in both images in the corresponding area as a second parallax; a parallax integration part 31 which integrates the first parallax with the second parallax; and a distance calculation part which calculates the distance to an object corresponding to the predetermined unit area for the area based on the integrated parallaxes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
