<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of successfully maintaining image quality while reducing deterioration in productivity due to frequent forced consumption of a developer. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device comprises: image forming means for forming an image by visualizing an electrostatic latent image on an image holding body using a developer by developing means; average image density detection means for detecting an average image density over a predetermined number of images formed in the past by the image forming means; forced consumption means for performing forced consumption operations forcibly consuming a developer of the developing means for each operation interval determined by a predetermined image numbers; and operation interval changing means for changing an operation interval for performing forced consumption operation by the forced consumption means according to the average image density detected by the average image density detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
