<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ester compound which is excellent in lubricity, low-temperature fluidity and heat resistance, and to provide a lubricating oil using the ester compound. <P>SOLUTION: The ester compound is obtained by mixing: an ester (A) obtained by making a mixed carboxylic acid including 40 to 80 wt.% of isostearic acid and a neopentyl polyol (a) react with each other; and an ester (B) obtained by making a fatty acid represented by a general formula (I) and a neopentyl polyol (b) react with each other; wherein a weight ratio of the ester (A) to the ester (B) (ester (A)/ester (B)) is 0.60-3.00 [in the formula, x and y are integers satisfying conditions of 10≤x+y≤22 and 4≤x≤16]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
