<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of reducing color unevenness and luminance unevenness during display of a normal image. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device includes: a transmission type display panel; an illumination part; an optical separation part which includes a plurality of opening/closing parts switchable to a light transmitting state or a light shielding state and separates an image displayed on the transmission type display panel by bringing a prescribed opening/closing part into the light transmitting state and bringing the other opening/closing part into the light shielding state; a light control part capable of switching between a light scattering state and the light transmitting state; and a drive part for driving the transmission type display panel, the optical separation part, and the light control part. The light separation part is disposed between the transmission type display panel and the illumination part, and the light control part is disposed between the optical separation part and the transmission type display part. When an image for a plurality of view points is displayed on the transmission type display panel, the light control part is brought into the light transmitting state, and when an image for a single view point is displayed on the transmission type display panel, the light control part is brought into the light scattering state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
