<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of maintaining image quality by securely cleaning a transfer member. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device comprises: moving means (retracting mechanism 130) for moving to a state in which a removal member (cleaning blade 106) is contacted with a transfer member (transfer belt 100) during removal of a developer or a state in which the removal member is separated from the transfer member during non-removal of a developer; a rotary shaft (camshaft 132) which is connected to the moving means to transmit driving force and is rotatably supported by a pair of bearings disposed at both end sides; and first braking means for braking the rotation of the rotary shaft.
