FUEL CELL SYSTEM AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of shortening a waiting time of an observer who confirms a setting value of a system interconnection protector before starting a system interconnection operation and to provide an operation method of the fuel cell system.

SOLUTION: A fuel cell system 100 includes: a hydrogen generator 16 which generates a hydrogen-containing gas by using a raw material; a heater 18 for heating the hydrogen generator 16; a power generation start instruction device 32 which receives an instruction input by manual operation of an operator for starting a power generation operation interconnected with a power system of the fuel cell system 100; and a controller 28 which is configured to be on standby of power generation for waiting for starting a power generation operation in which the fuel cell system 100 is interconnected with a power system while retaining heat of the hydrogen generator 16 by the heater 18 after completing a heat up treatment of the hydrogen generator 16 by the heater 18, and to stop the standby of power generation and start a power generation operation interconnected with a power system when receiving an instruction for starting power generation from the power generation start instruction device 32.
