A solar battery (210) is provided with a pillar optical member (230) comprised of an incident surface (231) on which sun light (Ls) is incident and an irradiation surface (232) arranged facing a solar battery element (211) for the irradiation of the sun light (Ls) to the solar battery element (211) and a holding unit (240) that holds the pillar optical member (230). The holding unit (240) is provided with an abutting frame member (241) that is abutted to a side surface (233) of the pillar optical member (230) and has a thickness (t) in a direction from the incident surface (231) to the irradiation surface (232) and a support member (242) that is arranged separately from the pillar optical member (230) for supporting the abutting frame member (241). The side surface (233) of the pillar optical member (230) is inclined to totally reflect the sun light (Ls) in the direction to the irradiation surface (232) while the incident surface (231) of the pillar optical member (230) is set to such a size that a light flux collection region (FLRd) formed by the sun light (Ls) on the incident surface is positioned inside. |
