<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible for a subordinate communication terminal to perform IP communication with an external node in an IP network side even if the subordinate communication terminal does not support an IP protocol. <P>SOLUTION: A gateway device 1 keeps the prescribed number of IP addresses to be assigned to a subordinate communication terminal 2. Then the gateway device 1 determines a type of protocol that the communication terminal 2 supports, and based on the type of protocol and the remaining number of the kept IP addresses, sets an IP address in the communication terminal 2 as an address for communication or sets address information other than an IP address. If the communication terminal 2 does not directly communicate with an external node (communication terminal 3) at the side of an IP network 4, the gateway device 1 sets an IP address (global IP address) necessary to perform IP communication with the communication terminal 3 according to the IP address or address information set in the communication terminal 2, and relays IP communication between the communication terminals 2 and 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
