POSITION INFORMATION DETECTION DEVICE, COMMUNICATION DEVICE, AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position information detection device that can be employed to a portable phone and performs hybrid positioning by combining GPS positioning information and other positioning information.

SOLUTION: The position information detection device controls frequency of positioning processing by a GPS receiver based on an operation state such as movement of a terminal and receiving state of the GPS signal at the current position. Further, the position information detection device performs control to stop the positioning processing of the GPS receiver so as to perform positioning with necessary accuracy while reducing power consumption.
