<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building roof and an outer wall panel excellent in sound insulation, capable of reducing propagation of noise generated by a rain fall or external environment to the inside of a building. <P>SOLUTION: A building exterior material includes steel comprising 0.001 to 0.20 wt.% of carbon, 0.01 to 3.0 wt.% of silicon, 5.0 to less than 18.0 wt.% of manganese, 0.01 to 20.0 wt.% of chromium, and 0.001 to 0.1 wt.% of aluminum, with the remainder being iron. The steel is smelted to have a chemical composition satisfying such a condition that a stacking fault energy (SFE) (mJ/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>) is 20 (mJ/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>) or less, and formed to have an ε-Ms phase of 5 to 80 vol.% by a manufacturing method satisfying a predetermined heat treatment condition, cooling condition and cold working condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
