METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECOVERING CLOCK OF OPTICAL TRANSPORT NETWORK USING REFERENCE CLOCK

A method for recovering the clock of an optical transport network (OTN) using a reference clock is disclosed in the present invention. The method includes: the frequency information of an Optical Channel Data Unit-k (ODUk) clock is measured using a reference measure clock, and the measured frequency information is encapsulated into the overhead of a packet; in the decapsulation processing of recovering the ODUk from the packet, the ODUk clock with the same frequency is recovered according to the reference measure clock with the same frequency, the frequency information parsed from the overhead of the packet, and the length of the packet. An apparatus for recovering the clock of an OTN using a reference clock is also disclosed in the present invention, wherein a packet-to-ODUk processing module is used to recover the ODUk clock with the same frequency according to the reference measure clock with the same frequency, the frequency information parsed from the overhead of the packet, and the length of the packet. With the method and the apparatus provided in the present invention, a good clock still can be recovered after the ODUk undergoes a packet switch processing with uncertain delay.
