The method involves connecting a piston (20) with a drive shaft (10), which is placed in a housing, against which the drive shaft changes its angle positions during rotation and which is connected with an electro-mechanical energy convertor (30). During the idle operation after a defined time period the drive shaft is transferred from an initial angular position into an end angular position that is different from the initial angular position. An independent claim is also included for a combustion engine with a measuring device.
