METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING CLONED EQUIPMENT

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for detecting cloned equipment. The method comprises: when an authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) server receives an access request from a terminal, and if a conversation of a terminal having the same equipment identification information with the terminal is detected, it means that a cloned equipment exists. The present invention can prevent an illegal cloned terminal from accessing the network in a packet network, and it can also enable an operator and a legal end user to detect illegally cloned equipment in time, and take proper measures to reduce economic loss. Compared with prior art, the present invention does not need to employ additional equipment nor modify the access server and the terminal. It has minimum influence on the system, is very easy to realize and involves very low cost.
