PURPOSE: An object recognition system, an object recognition system for vehicles, and a method thereof are provided to reduce amount of operation processing in which a processor has to take care of and amount of memories which is required during an image processing. CONSTITUTION: An object recognition system, an object recognition system for vehicles comprises an image transformer, a concern region detector(130), and a filming unit of image(110). The image transformer is input source screen and converts an object into edge reflex shown in an edge line. The concern region detector partitions the edge reflex into a plurality of domains. The concern region detector compares preliminarily established critical value with total of edge element value of the edge line. In the concern region detector, the total of the edge element value detects a domain bigger than the critical value. The concern region detector equally divides edge reflex by n in a horizontal direction so that the edge reflex to be divided in a plurality of regions.
