<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve stable charge/discharge cycle performance by using a positive electrode active material using an inexpensive and resource-rich element in a nonaqueous electrolyte battery. <P>SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte battery, a positive electrode active material including secondary particles and having an N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone oil absorption of 25 g/100 g or more and 35 g/100 g or less is used. The secondary particles comprises primary particles of a lithium phosphoric acid compound, and the primary particles are joined via an electronic conductive material with each other and each of the primary particles has a surface at least partly covered with the electronic conductive material, the lithium phosphoric acid compound having an average composition represented by (chemical formula 1) and having an olivine structure. (Chemical formula 1): Li<SB POS="POST">x</SB>M1<SB POS="POST">1-s</SB>M2<SB POS="POST">s</SB>PO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>(where, M1 represents at least one selected from the group consisting of iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn) and magnesium (Mg), M2 represents at least one selected from among elements belonging to Groups 2 to 15 excluding M1, and x and s represent a value within regions of 0≤x≤1.2 and 0≤s≤1.0, respectively). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
