<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire having improved plunger energy and anti-BES(belt edge separation) resistance while maintaining lightweight properties of a tire, as a tire that is particularly suitable as a tire for large passenger vehicles and as an extra load tire. <P>SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire has a carcass 1 as a structure, and is provided, on the outside in the radial direction of a crown part of the tire, with at least two layers 2a, 2b obtained by covering with rubber a plurality of steel cords arranged at an incline with respect to the circumferential direction of the tire. The steel cords comprise two or more core wires and five to seven wires that are twisted therearound. The gap between adjoining steel cords within a belt layer exceeds 1.0 mm but does not exceed 1.50 mm, and the gauge of the belt layer falls within the range of 1.20 mm to 1.60 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
